Genevieve Turgeon, R.Ac

I deeply believe in the power of acupuncture. The people I am fortunate enough to work with inspire me every single day.

Hello, I'm Gen!

I am a registered acupuncturist practicing in Victoria, British Columbia. This beautiful place I call home inspires me to reconnect with the elements, restore balance, and honour my intuition.

Growing up, my mother utilized natural alternatives whenever possible and this continues to influence my life today. I first became intrigued in Eastern-style healing while working internationally in luxury hospitality. With acupuncture rooted in ancient knowledge and emphasized through modern practices, I am deeply proud of and passionate about this work.

MY PHILOSOPHY:

Acupuncture is so much more than a folk medicine. It is an accessible and effective system of medicine that helps achieve health by focusing on the whole story of a person, rather than simply reacting to symptoms of ‘dis-ease’. Our bodies have an amazing ability to communicate with us: physical and emotional aches and pains are the body’s way of letting us know that something is off balance.

I deeply resonate with the philosophy behind Traditional Chinese Medicine – that our body has the capacity to self-heal through the movement of energy. When we are in a state of flow, we are connected to our truest self. Our eyes shine bright, our bodies feel strong, and everything seems to align. I believe that acupuncture is one of the best tools to help us reach that state of flow, to help our bodies regain equilibrium and to quiet our minds.

I also strongly believe that one’s experience has a major role in facilitating healing. The body can only begin healing when the nervous system is in a regulated state. I aim to ensure that your experience with me during your treatment feels comfortable, soothing, and safe for you.

My Acupuncture Treatment Approach

As an acupuncturist, my aim is to conjure a shift in you that is meaningful, noticeable, and effective. I take into account the whole of your life — physical, emotional, mental, and lifestyle — to develop a truly personalized treatment plan. As an empathic human, my approach is deeply caring, warm, and intuitive while grounded in knowledge and skill.

THE TECHNIQUES I USE FOR ACUPUNCTURE THERAPY:

I use the best quality, Japanese-style needles, which offer a gentle, painless, and stress free acupuncture experience, direct and indirect moxibustion, cupping, heat therapy, and acupressure. I am always respectful of your boundaries with proper draping techniques and clear communication.

CONDITIONS I OFTEN TREAT USING ACUPUNCTURE:

  • stress

  • pain of any kind

  • anxiety +/or depression

  • digestive issues

  • headaches/brain fog
